Digital Cameras Under $50 - Why a digital camera?
Think about it. A digital camera is a good gift for wide variety of people, because no matter what their interests are, the odds are that they have things they want to take pictures of, like life events, pretty landscapes or just the people that matter to them. Almost everyone has photo albums, photo frames, photo screen savers or photo wallpaper. As a species, we seem to like to take pictures, even if we do not always like to be in them ourselves.
I know, there's only one barrier to going out and getting a digital camera as the perfect gift, and that is the cost. Sure, we all want to give nice gifts to our friends and family, but that does not mean that we want to spend half the food budget for the week on it or drain the funds from our savings accounts in order to do so. After all, no one said the nice and expensive had to be synonymous.
Fortunately, there are a lot of options available to you in the world of digital cameras that will not drain your wallet, and will still allow you to give something of use and value to the receiver. Each of the cameras that I'm recommending will come with a price tag of $50 or less. You can match the cost of the one you buy to the user.
That being said, when you're looking to buy electronics on the budget, you can't really be picky about where you get them from. That is not to say I am going to send you to seedy places or shopping in less- than-workable online retailers; just don't expect that you'll always be shopping at places known for having a philosophy.
Once again though, I'm going to have to recommend that you don't even give the expensive models in this range to kids. They tend to break things.
That being said, not all of the models are going to be equal in quality. Some will be better than others, and while I will be trying to do a little bit of quality control my own, there is no substitute for your own good judgment and knowledge of a situation. After all, you probably won't be giving the same camera to an avid bird watcher who will be taking shots at a distance as you will to a 15-year-old who is likely to just be taking pictures at school or social occasions. Their needs are different.
