Canon PowerShot SD950 IS Compact Digital Camera
(Page 1 of 4 )
Canon has had a long line of successful "digital ELPH" cameras, which goes back over 10 years. The latest in this line of digital cameras is the Canon PowerShot SD950 IS (IXUS 960 IS in Europe). Read on for an in-depth review of this product. It's a doozy!
The SD950 maintains the same distinct "boxy" shape of past digital ELPH cameras, but it has taken on smoother curves and a cleaner look. The SD950 still has that retro-look of past ELPH cameras, which reminds us of its roots.
The SD950 is the follow-up to the SD900. The two cameras are similar in many ways, but there are a few distinct differences between the two. The main upgrades you will see in the SD950 are an increased 12 mega-pixel CCD and an increase in the optical zooming power to 3.7x, which is higher than most of the SD950's competition. There are a few other minor upgrades, as well, which I will discuss throughout this review.
The SD950 is priced competitively at an MSRP of $449. I have seen this camera at online stores for under $400, which is relatively affordable. At this price, you get a lot of features and decent performance out of this ultra-compact camera.
