Shoppers looking for a laptop that they can find in retail stores this holiday season might want to take a look at the Toshiba Satellite E105-S1802, an exclusive retail configuration for Best Buy. The E105-S1802 is a mainstream laptop that provides a solid feature set, good performance, and an attractive design.

It has a suggested retail price of $950, but if you shop now you can find it for $800. It comes with an above average two-year warranty on parts and labor. You can find support online through Toshiba’s website, as well as via telephone through the company’s toll-free line.

The Satellite E105-S1802’s fixed retail configuration comes with a 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 processor with 3 MB of L2 cache. The dual core processor gives the laptop solid overall performance and speed. It can handle most casual computing tasks such as checking email, surfing the Internet, chatting, multimedia, and occasional gaming. The E105-S1802 also comes with 4 GB of DDR2 SDRAM that aids in multitasking.

For graphics, you get an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD card. Plenty of storage for your music, video, and other files is onboard, thanks to a 500 GB hard drive. The battery life on the Satellite E105-S1802 is excellent, with its included 8-cell lithium ion battery providing 5.5 hours of life on a full charge, making the laptop an excellent choice for those who travel a lot and need longevity out of their laptop. For the operating system, the laptop comes with the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition installed.

A solid set of features accompany the E105-S1802’s core hardware. Integrated 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi lets you connect to the fastest available wireless networks while on the go. Bluetooth 2.1 is also included so you can wirelessly connect that laptop to other compatible devices, such as an MP3 player or cell phone.

You get a DVD drive so you can watch movies and listen to your favorite CDs. Make sure you use headphones, though, as the laptop’s integrated speakers put out poor volume. An integrated webcam and microphone come in handy when you want to video chat with your friends. It even has a built-in fingerprint reader that takes your data protection to a level beyond just passwords.

The Satellite E105-S1802 also has a memory card reader that you can use to quickly transfer files from another device such as a digital camera. The reader supports multiple card formats such as a xD-Picture Card, a SD card, a Memory Stick, and more.
