Toshiba Qosmio G55-Q802 Laptop
The market for 18-inch laptops has slowly been growing, and now Toshiba, with its Qosmio G55-Q802, is looking to get a piece of the pie. If you are unfamiliar with 18-inch laptops, the basic idea is that laptops are the “in” thing, so if you are looking to buy a desktop, you might as well go ahead and buy a really big laptop that has as much power as a modest desktop.

Of course, there are certain advantages that come with buying a laptop over a desktop. If you are considering buying the Qosmio G55-Q802, then you are probably already familiar with a lot of these reasons. Suffice it to say, if you do not know why you would get a big powerful laptop rather than a desktop, then you might be better off just sticking with a desktop.
If you've decided that a clunky laptop is for you, then we are ready to go ahead and take a closer look into exactly what makes the G55-Q802 unique. As far as 18" laptops go, the new Toshiba really is not all that impressive. Although it features the processing power to do just about whatever you would like, it falls short on some of the other premium features you might want.
The two strong suits of the G55-Q802 are an interesting capability to ramp up its processing capabilities in very specific situations, and a unique proprietary gestures system that, while a little unorthodox, could prove useful under very specific circumstances. The Qosmio's weakness is that it does not offer true HD display resolution or a Blu-ray disc player.
The bottom line is that the G55-Q802 does not offer the greatest options for an expensive and large laptop, but does offer some nifty uniqueness factors. If you find the very specific features of the G55-Q802 useful, then you might consider it. You might also consider purchasing it if you are just looking to impress your friends or play around with some new technology.
