ThinkPad X300 - Charge time, Cost
While the time it takes the battery to go from 0% to 100% will vary by the age of the system and its battery, the tests performed by this reviewer showed the charge time of a ThinkPad X300 is between 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
While we are on the topic of your battery, it is worth mentioning that down the line, if you should need to replace it for any reason you can easily do so on your own. This is not true of all of the ultra thin models on the market. You should know what you are getting into before you buy.
What about the costs?
Ah yes, now we get to the bottom line. No matter how good a piece of technology is, no one will buy it if it is priced incorrectly. This is to say if it is too costly. Very few people are going to complain if they get a good deal on a shiny new technology toy.
The cost of the basic model is just under $2500 without the taxes. If you customize the computer you can end up being at, or higher than, the $3000 mark before the taxes are applied.
In the basic, $2500 model you get the following: 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SL7100 processor, 64 GB solid state drive, 2 GB of 667 MHz memory and an Intel GMA X3100 graphics card. As for the operating system, this baby ships with Windows XP Professional. That's good news for those of you who have less than warm and fuzzy feelings about Vista.
