The Velocity Micro Edge Z30 is a midrange gaming PC that offers users a simple design with good performance. Priced at about $1,350, the Micro Edge Z30 gives a lot of value at an affordable price. It comes with a standard one-year warranty on parts and labor. You can find plenty of help and reference material on Velocity’s website, as well as via telephone during certain hours on Monday through Saturday.
The performance of the Micro Edge Z30 is excellent. It can handle almost any task you throw at it, including almost any game on the market today. It has a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 860 processor that is over-clocked to 3.2GHz. No need to worry, though, as there are few instability issues that arise from this change in settings. The over-clocked CPU allows the Z30’s performance to compete with other computers that are priced much higher. This is true regarding both normal applications as well as gaming.
The Z30 has a maximum 8GB of DDR3 SDRAM and also comes with a 1TB hard drive for plenty of storage space. It comes with a fast NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 graphics card that performs well, with the only exception being if you want to run a graphics intensive game on a large LCD. In that case, you will have to play around with the settings a bit to enjoy the game without any problems. In terms of power consumption, the Z30 is efficient for the most part and in line with other computers in its price range. As expected, the Z30 consumes less power than more powerful and more expensive systems.
