The Gateway P172X FX Laptop - Focus on Performance

The P172X FX comes complete with a 2.4GHz Penryn Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 CPU. Speedy performance was enjoyed even under harsh gaming conditions that usually stress most systems. Frame rates and image quality never seemed to be compromised during test runs of Unreal Tournament III and Quake Wars. Multitasking was never a problem and never seemed to bog down the system. The P172X FX’S battery also tested well at 1 hour and 55 minutes, considering most laptops top out at 90 minutes on battery tests.

The Gateway P172X FX, as with other laptops in the company line, comes complete with a HDMI output as well as an eSATA port. The HDMI output is great for hooking up the computer to a high definition television or LCD. The eSATA port works well for those who need to hook up external data drives. This is a nice bonus as these features usually only accompany the higher end gaming laptops.

The P172X FX also comes complete with a LAN port and VGA out. As stated before, another plus is that the new system does not come bogged down with the useless HD DVD drive that accompanies the more expensive Gateway P-171XL FX. Another great feature is the slot load DVD player which allows users to enjoy the excellent aforementioned display capabilities while watching their favorite films. All of these features add to the P172X FX’s value by eliminating the need for tons of tangled wires and adapters. Of course it comes complete with Bluetooth wireless technology as well.
