Sky Hawk IMC6371 SFF PC Review - Installation

I started installing the IMC6371 by spreading a layer of Arctic Silver on the P4 2.4B being used and inserting it into the socket.

The IMC6371 does not come with a heatsink/fan. I chose to use a Scythe Kamakura all copper heatsink. This heatsink is leap years ahead of the 2.4GHz stock hs/f.

The Kamakura just fits inside the IMC6371. Anything larger, like a Zalman CNPS-7000, and there'll be trouble.

Next to be installed is RAM. My RAM of choice was cheap 2x256 PC3200 Kingston Value RAM.

    Installed, it looks like this:

Putting in the hard drive is a matter of taking out a thumbscrew, removing the hard drive bay, screwing in the hard drive, then putting everything back together.

Installing a floppy drive or CD-ROM is a simple as plopping them down and securing them with screws on the sides. Make sure that your optical drive is not too long. The one I installed was very long and barely fit.

The next step is just plugging in power and IDE cables. I had no problems doing so. Finally, I installed a AverMedia PCI TV Tuner and ATI Radeon 9600 graphics card.

The TV Tuner bracket would not match up with the holes on the outside of the case, but the 9600 bracket did. Because there is a little piece of metal that sits on top of both brackets, securing one secures both.
