Sky Hawk IMC6371 SFF PC Review - The IMC6371 Interior
(Page 4 of 9 )
Opening the IMC6371 reveals that all switch, LED, USB, firewire, power and sound connections from the case to the motherboard have already been made and their wires routed accordingly. There are two available power cables coming from the power supply. One is a little longer than the other, but both only have one 4-pin molex connector and one floppy connector. The only cables not already in the IMC6371 are IDE, SATA, and floppy cables. Those are included in a separate box.

Note that the IDE and floppy cables are rounded and wrapped in mesh.

The two ram slots which work in both single and dual channel are in a slightly difficult to reach position, beneath case wires and sandwiched between the motherboard power connector and northbridge heatsink.

Here are the two SATA ports, beside LED, power and reset switchs, and USB connections.

Beside the CPU socket and close to the case's ventilation slots are the motherboard's power capacitors and three mosfets.

The hard drive bay is located beneath floppy and optical drive bays. It sits perpendicular to both, and slides in and out.

This is the floppy and optical drive bays.

Overall the interior looks pretty clean. The only difficulty I see is perhaps installing memory and plugging in IDE cables to the motherboard. There is little room to work with, and you may have to take out the hard drive bay first and push the wires aside. Cooling wise, the IMC6371 is laid out very well. The CPU socket is in front of the power supply at the back end, which has an exhaust fan. The CPU socket is also flanked on one side by the mosfets and case ventilation slots.

The AGP slot is placed closer to the side of the case than the PCI slot, giving better ventilation to a hot graphics card. With this setup, there shouldn't be any problems with cooling.
