Sky Hawk IMC6371 SFF PC Review - The IMC6371 Exterior

At a glance, the Sky Hawk IMC6371 is sleek and stylish. The front bezel is primarily constructed of brushed aluminum. The included floppy and optical drive covers are also brushed aluminum but covered in clear plastic. The bottom of the front bezel is silver plastic while the edges have a mirror gloss finish. Across the center of the front bezel is a horizontal band of reflective plastic "steps" accented by a blue stripe and two blue LEDs on each end

The aluminum cover that shields the left, right, and top of the case is one piece. It is secured at the back by three thumbscrews. On the left and right sides of the cover are air vents.

The front panel LCD displays text in black while the background displays seven colors. There are three buttons used to set the time and switch the display between time and temperature, Celsius and Fahrenheit, and set the background color. The bottom right of the front bezel consists of the hard disk activity LED, power LED, reset switch, and power switch.

Beneath the bottom left cover are two USB2.0 ports, a mic port, a line-out port, and a firewire port. Unfortunately, this cover is attached very poorly and rattles even when closed. In fact, the entire plastic bottom portion of the bezel feels rather flimsy.

The back of the IMC6371 is simple. There's the 80mm exhaust fan from the power supply, two expansion slots (one PCI, one AGP), and the motherboard I/O ports.

One problem with the IMC6371 is the I/O cover. The motherboard is secured in such a way that the ports do not stick as far out as they should. The I/O cover, which is very hard, comes pre-installed. As a result it is impossible to plug in any PS/2 devices or audio plugs without them being pushed out either immediately or after time and movement. I had to use a screwdriver and physically bang on the I/O cover to get a keyboard to stay connected.
