We can see from the specifications that it has the basic features of any laptop. Add to this the fact that it is much lighter than most laptops its size. We purchased it for just under $400; later we will see that we got what we paid for (they skimped on a lot of bits).

Unlike some other laptops I have had an opportunity to review (such as the Macbook Pro), this particular one is pretty ordinary. It comes pre-loaded with Windows XP Home (yawn) and claims to be "Vista capable." A quick simulation will prove otherwise; you will need to add more memory to run Vista.

The laptop featured no interesting extras; we loaded up all the fun stuff ourselves. Information on this laptop online is a bit sketchy; it seems there are more popular (and more expensive) Easy Notes that Packard Bell pushes more aggressively.

There are no legacy serial ports and no PCMCIA slots, so if you are into having notebook cards for increased performance this particular laptop may not work for you. By the time I got this lap top for my exclusive use it had been thoroughly broken in, so I had the opportunity to see its "wear and tear." I noticed quite a lot of it, after barely four months! But first let me share my favorite bits.
