Netbooks: Samsung Go N310 and Gateway LT3103u - Samsung Connectivity and Design

Beyond the basic internal configuration, the Samsung Go N310 also comes with Bluetooth, so you can use it in conjunction with other devices wirelessly. Wi-Fi is also present, allowing you to connect to available wireless networks with ease. There is a 3-in-1 card reader so you can view files and photos from other devices quickly. There are also three USB ports available for use. To keep in touch with your friends, you can use the integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam and microphone on the N310.

Samsung definitely put some thought into the Go N310's design, and went as far as hiring renowned Japanese artist Naoto Fukasawa to consult with its creation. The N310 has an overall rectangular shape with rounded edges which look similar to a smooth pebble. The N310 weighs 2.9 pounds and measures 10.3 inches wide by 7.2 inches tall by 1.1 inch thick.

It's solidly built despite being portable. The colors are perhaps the highlight of the N310; you get to choose between jet black, midnight blue, mint blue, and sunset orange for the Netbook's exterior lid colors. As for the inside of the N310, you get a jet black color around the keyboard and display that goes nicely with whatever color you pick for the lid.

The N310 has a 10.1-inch wide screen LED display with 1,024x600 resolution. The display has a nice edge-to-edge glass design which adds to the overall aesthetic value of the N310. The display's gloss does tend to pick up a lot of glare though. It should be noted that considering the high price of the N310, it is disappointing to not have a display with a better resolution, such as other netbooks in its similar price range.

The keyboard on the N310 is spacious for a netbook, and its keys are comfortable to type on. One complaint exists with the touch pad. It lacks separate left and right mouse buttons for easier usage and instead has a single bar, which could get annoying to use at times.

Once again, if you value style over substance, the Samsung Go N310 might be the netbook for you. It looks cool, but it is really the same machine as other netbooks that are cheaper, but not as attractive.
