Hannspree Hannsnote Netbook - Display and Keyboard
(Page 4 of 4 )
Although small and light, the Hannsnote is solidly built, including its sturdy hinge. The Hannsnote has a 10.1-inch display with 1,024x600 resolution and a matte finish, as opposed to glossy. No need to worry, though; the screen, while lacking the flash of a glossed finish, emits a great picture. For a netbook, its speakers are not bad either, but much better when used in conjunction with headphones, obviously.
Using the Hannsnote is painless thanks to its keyboard. It’s a decent size, and its keys are comfortable and responsive to the touch. The touch pad is responsive as well, although some might complain that it’s a bit small. Then again, this is a netbook, where size is supposed to be sacrificed.
For being a first venture into the netbook market for Hannspree, the Hannsnote is a success. It doesn’t stand out in any way, but it has a commendable feature set. Again, it would have been nice to see what twists they could have added to gain an edge in design, but it’s not an ugly netbook by any means. It remains to be seen how many will respond to its release, considering its lack of history, and whether or not those shopping for Netbooks will have enough confidence in the brand to make the purchase.
