HP TouchSmart 300-1200 and HP Pavilion p6210y - HP Pavilion Expansion and Design

Although the HP Pavilion p6210y comes as a fixed retail configuration, it does offer you some expansion options. The 6 GB of RAM that comes standard on the system can be upgraded up to 16 GB. There is also room for another hard drive if the 640 GB drive is insufficient for all of your storage. Other vacancies include two 1x PCI Express slots and a 16x PCI Express slot.

The aesthetics of the Pavilion p6210y are pretty common, yet still good enough to fit in any setting you wish to place it. It has a matte black finish with the exception of its glossy black front panel with chrome accents. Size-wise, the tower measures 15.3 inches tall by 16.9 inches wide by 7 inches thick and weighs 9.8 pounds. T

he front panel houses a media card reader at the top for data transfers with other electronic devices. Below the media card reader is the DVD drive and the expansion bay. Headphone and microphone jacks as well as two USB ports also reside on the front panel and are hidden behind a cover.

The rest of the connectivity resides on the back panel, and includes an Ethernet port, four more USB ports, a VGA port, a DVI port, audio ports, and ports for a keyboard and mouse. No HDMI port is available, unfortunately.

The HP Pavilion p6210y is a solid pick as an everyday budget desktop, despite its lack of Wi-Fi or a HDMI port. That being said, there are competing desktops on the market that are cheaper and offer similar if not better performance. You should definitely shop around a bit before you put down your hard-earned cash on the Pavilion p6210y.
