    HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr Laptop

If you're in the market for a laptop and affordability is the highest priority on your list, you may want to look at HP's Pavilion dv5-1004nr. The HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr is an affordable mainstream laptop currently under $1,000 that should suffice for those needing a machine to enable them to complete term papers and business-related tasks. Let's take a closer look.

The HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr sports a 15 inch monitor with an attractive and modern design. Its performance is not up to par with its appearance, however, and it also provides a less-than-stellar battery life. If you are just looking for a general laptop for the convenience of performing standard tasks, the HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr may be worth a look.

The HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr is currently priced at around $800 depending on where you shop. Again, it is its price that is its main selling point, and that alone may make it a viable option for those not in need of an ultra performance machine.

The HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr is kind of like the big brother of the previously released HP Pavilion dv5-1002nr. Unlike the cheaper 1002nr, though, the HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr gives you 64-bit Vista, along with more memory and more processing power.

Unfortunately, the 1004nr shares the same AMD Turion X2 processor. To be exact, the HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr comes equipped with a 2.1 GHz AMD Turion X2 Mobile ZM-80 processor. This is one area where this laptop is lacking, as its competitors from other manufacturers mostly boast more powerful Intel-based processors, such as the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
