    Gateway P-7811FX Laptop - Design

When compared to other laptops that are manufactured with gamers' needs in mind, the Gateway P-7811FX has a rather subdued look. While others incorporate flashing lights and the like to make them look sometimes like mini-spaceships, the P-7811FX has an outer lid and cover that is glossy black in color. Ingrained into the middle of the lid is a large FX logo with a small Gateway logo in the bottom corner. While closed, the Gateway P-7811FX is an attractive piece to carry around, and has a very modern look that can definitely turn heads wherever you go.

Once opened and ready for use, you see its attractive glossy black color framing the display. The keyboard and touch pad area are surrounded by a mixture of brushed aluminum and copper accents. Gateway did a nice job of picking out colors for this gaming laptop, as it strays from the more conventional color combinations of other laptops that seemingly stick to silver and black.

The actual dimensions of the Gateway P-7811FX are 15.7 inches wide by 12.2 inches deep by 1.6 inches high when closed. As mentioned before, it has a large 17.1 inch screen. The Gateway P-7811FX is a rather heavy laptop, weighing in at 9 pounds exactly. Then again, it does have a larger screen than most regular laptops and it does pack a punch, so one cannot complain about its weight too much.
