The Gateway DX4822-01 is a mainstream budget desktop available in retail stores. This fixed configuration tower offers competitive performance with intelligent design. The DX4822-01 is available for around $500, and comes with a standard one-year warranty on parts and labor. The Gateway DX4822-01’s retail configuration has a 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium E5300 processor with 2 MB of L2 cache. This dual-core processor offers enough performance to satisfy users in need of a desktop for basic tasks like surfing the Internet or media viewing. In short, it’s enough for budget desktop shoppers.
The DX4822-01 also has 6 GB of DDR2 SDRAM that lets you run multiple applications at once without problems. The 1 TB hard drive on board offers more than enough space for most people’s music files and other important data. In terms of graphics, the DX4822-01 comes with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 card. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition is the operating system that comes pre-installed, as seems to be the case with most current desktops on the market.
