Acer Aspire One Netbook - Features
In terms of features, the Aspire One may lack many of the bells and whistles that conventional laptops come equipped with, but the few features it comes with will prove to be very useful. The Aspire One is generous with the USB ports, offering three. Hardware-wise, the only thing that's really missing is internal Bluetooth. The Aspire Onealso lacks an ExpressCard slot, which the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 is expected to offer.
If you are using the netbook only for browsing, 8 GB is enough, but adding an SD card on the second SD slot will add the additional storage to the main storage total, so that's a good way of upgrading without using a screwdriver. Speaking of upgrades, you can buy more RAM and somewhat easily add it to the Acer Aspire One. SSD or hard drive upgrades are much more complicated, though not recommended.
Acer's new netbook also comes equipped with Linux software, which is simple and to the point. The software comes with four major categorized icon teams that users can choose from, including networking, which has Firefox; Acer-developed e-mail, which also comes equipped with instant messaging; productivity, which has Open Office; and a games icon.
TheAspire Onealso includes an industry-standard one-year parts-and-labor warranty, and Acer has set up a separate mini-site for the Aspire One.
