Intel Chipset Information
"The Intel® 845GE chipset is the newest integrated graphics chipset developed with DDR333 memory and optimized to support the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology, adding intelligence to help manage and prioritize multiple threads received from the microprocessor. The Intel 845GE chipset also includes the extremely stable and innovative Intel® Extreme Graphics technology, running at 266 MHz core speed, which enables even better performance than previous generation chipsets." While Intel may hype the IEG feature set, it still cannot compare to today's newer AGP video cards. Still, if your not an avid gamer, the Intel Extreme Graphics will give you plenty of horsepower to do just about everything else while keeping costs at a minimum. Below are the features of the Intel 845GE chipset. These can be found on Intel's own website and if your interested in comparing the 845GE to other Intel chipsets, go HERE. Until Canterwood and Springdale hit the market, the 845PE and GE series remain the chipset of choice for most desktop consumers.

Granite Bay is certainly a solid performer but squarely aimed at the sever market with a pricetag that is out of range for most of us.

Want to know a bit more about Intel Extreme Graphics?
"Intel® 845GE, 845GV, 845G and 845GL chipsets feature integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics, a revolutionary graphics core that delivers intense, realistic 3D graphics with sharp images, fast rendering, smooth motion, and incredible detail. This unique architecture enables balanced memory usage between graphics and the system for optimal performance. Extreme graphics architecture was uniquely designed to complement the capabilities of the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor, and also supports the Intel® Celeron® processor."

While the IEG certainly is a step up from previous incarnations of integrated graphics, there is still a long way to go before it comes close to an AGP add-on card. We'll compare benchmarks later in the review.
Out of the Box
The gBOX came very well packed in a nice tidy box complete with handle. The box was packed with high quality impact foam to make sure this precious package was not damaged in shipment.

What you get
Lets take a look at a few pics of the gBOX itself as well as what you get with the whole package.

Right from the start you'll see this little beauty has a look all it's own. We previously reviewed both the AMS gTower and gMono series cases which were very high quality. I'm happy to see that AMS is continuing the tradition here with their high quality aluminum and acrylic chassis design. This thing is absolutely gorgeous!

Here a quick snap of all the goodies that come with the system itself.

AMS provides everything you will need (and then some) to get your system up and running with all the bells and whistles. Lets move on and checkout installation.
