    VIA Nano - Conclusion

VIA has an exciting new CPU out, called the Nano. One of the last x86 license holders has a big new CPU which looks set to make some waves in the market.  It offers some pretty good performance vs. TDP ration, and has government level hardware encryption.

With the amount of computer the government loses per year, I hope they pick these CPUs up and at least give them a chance. Overall, I haven't really considered VIA to be much then a very small player in the market with a small niche in the ITX market. I think this is about to change for VIA.

The market is getting smaller, from desktops, to notebooks, now down to UMPC.  Computers are getting smaller; Intel and AMD are just realizing this now, and really putting the pedal to the metal, while VIA is geared ready to go.

VIA doesn't have the resources to make a chipset and graphics along with CPU and still keep up with Intel. nVidia is going to play a vital role in the success of the Nano. If nVidia can bring a good chipset and blow Intel's graphics out the door, it could get picked up by the likes of HP or Dell and really pick up steam.

I don't think VIA's offerings will ever be as popular as AMD's and Intel's, but the company could certainly become a name brand that people consider buying. If VIA can get some market share under its belt, and AMD continues to fall, VIA could really be in a good position.  I can't wait to see what the VIA Nano does in day-to-day performance.
