XG Viper 2 Case Review - Conclusion

If you are looking for a sleek case at a somewhat affordable price ($120 at the time of this writing), this case may be just what the doctor ordered.  I personally find it aesthetically pleasing and plan on investing in some additional lighting to trick it out a bit more.

Here’s what I consider the highs and lows on this case:

    Highs:

    • Attractive high-gloss finish
    • Definite cool-factor
    • Front and back fans included
    • LED readout for CPU temp, time, and fan speeds
    • All aluminum construction (this case is super light)
    • Good and functional tool-less design
    • Front panel USB, Firewire, Headphone, and Microphone

    Lows:

    • Inside of window needs protection during shipping
    • Confusing conflicting info on box
    • PSU weak at best
    • Hard to see HDD activity indicator

While the case looks cool, I could not bring myself to give it more than a 8 out of 10 rating.  The weak PSU and the other minor issues really brought down the score of this otherwise excellent case.

We’d like to thank MGE for sending us the Viper 2 case to review.  For more information about the Viper 2 case, or any of the other cool products in the XG product line, visit http://www.xgbox.com.
