Here is what I used to drill it. The only tool I needed for this whole thing.

The instructions provided do not indicate the hole size needed for a proper installation of the switch. Luckily, I have access to some precision measuring tools at MacKool Firearms, Ltd. (my personal gunsmith). Dave, at MacKool's, measured the washer at .832" which translates to about 13/16" needed for the hole. I went and saw my good friend Jerry at CK&W Supply who provided me with the proper hole saw as well as some good tips for making a perfect cut.

Jerry advised using a sacrificial block of wood on the back side.

    Drilling the hole.

    Installing the switch.

    Nice finish

    Conclusion
Now that everything is installed, it’s time to fire it up. After labor must come refreshment and enjoyment of one’s labors. Here it is in all its glory.

    Pros

    • High quality parts

    • Easy to install

    • Good color selection

    • Good price

    • Easy to follow instructions (with a small reservation listed below)

    Cons

    • Leads on cathode tubes not long enough (and extra 4” would win the day)

    • Instructions do not state what size drill bit to use for the rocker switch

Note: This version of CCFL is no longer being manufactured by SunBeam Technology Inc. They have since moved to a CCFL Package with a new inverter complete in a colored plastic box with the following features.

    • Safe, free from getting shocked, fire-proof maretial

    • Easy to plug & unplug CCFL

    • CE approval

SunBeam Inc. moves forward with a tight product cycle showcasing their dedication to innovation, style and quality. We look forward to showing off these new products very soon. These include: Sound Activated CCFL's, Laser LED's and the excellent new CCFL Fan.

The author and staff of OCA would like to thank SunBeam Technology, Inc. for providing this outstanding product for review.
