Project Sinister: Things That Go Bump In The Night - Perforating the Panel
(Page 4 of 6 )

Taking the side panel, I started to mod it. The first thing was to remove the interior of the louvered openings located towards the bottom of the panel. I wanted the lights I was planning to install to shine through and really help to convey the sinister appearance of the overall mod, and removing these interior pieces would help the light to illuminate through the openings.

With my Dremel again, I used the cutting wheel and carefully removed the openings. Once all the interior pieces were removed from both panels, I used the edge of the cutting wheel to de-burr the openings of tiny metal slivers and jagged edges left over from the cutting wheel. I often get a little overzealous about grinding the edges of things, but I’d rather be certain that it wouldn’t cut me than leave that to chance.
