Project Sinister: Out Comes the Evil - Side Panel, My Tormentor

I had a very special paint job planned for it, and I really didn’t want to lose the majority of the panel to an aesthetic purpose. I didn’t want to install a case window, either, especially with the perforated steel on the inside. Finally, in a flash of inspiration, I came up with a plan that would suit the theme of the mod and my vision quite exceptionally. I decided to cut out the area around the handle and the former louvered section and create a quasi case window of perforated steel. With my plans to install a green cold cathode light on the inside and perforations in the steel, I could create a rather ominous sinister effect. This would fit perfectly with my mod theme and look rather exception once the paint was applied.

Dremel in hand I started to cut again.

Once the window was cut with a slight curved edge to match the lower curve of the removed louvers, I was very happy with the result. Once my airbrushed graphics are applied to the case, these curves will really help to accentuate the finished result rather than detract from them. Feeling positive, I reassembled the mod, sans fan spinners, to see the overall effect.
