The specifications and features given by Chenming are fairly ordinary for any aluminum case; nothing striking really. Lets hope the case proves to be otherwise!
Packaging, First Impressions
I received the 301KE case in a pretty beat cardboard box, sandwiched between two pieces of Styrofoam. Thankfully the case was bagged and the window was covered in a thin layer of plastic both on the inside and out. First impressions:
I'll be honest and say this is the first "computer geek case" (for a lack of better words) in my possession. In the past I have always used traditional beige steel cases, my last case being a plastic Dell. In any case, my first impression was mixed; I loved the aluminum chassis which was INCREDIBLY light, lighter than anything I have ever worked with. I was literally able to pick up the case with my index finger. But the second thing I noticed was the plastic bezel. Not exactly "all aluminum" as advertised. Perhaps a plastic bezel has advantages; it certainly makes it easier for the manufacturer to style front of the case. But more importantly, the silver paint finish on the bezel did not quite seem to match that of the case itself; probably because the plastic gives off a certain shiny luster, which the aluminum does not.
