Aspire X-Cruiser - Opening the Box

Let's start pulling things out the box and take a quick look at the case. First up, Aspire thankfully put a protective plastic sheet over the window on the side panel. I'd hate to have the window scratched or damaged in shipping.

As seen below, the case looked awesome after removing the plastic.

The shot above shows the rear of the case missing a few PCI slot covers. I liked these slot covers because they popped on and off with little resistance. I disliked them for the same reason, as it is possible they could have damaged the inside of the case window during shipping.

The included bag of screws and accessories were also loose inside the case, probably bouncing around inside during shipping. Even though there was no protection for the inside of the case window, it was unmarred upon arrival.

Let's take a look at some of the case exterior. The paint job is worth noting. Aspire did a decent job of making this paint look good. It's not automotive quality or anything, but as you can see below that it's got a nice amount of reflectiveness.

Take a look down at the top of the case, which displays the upper case fan. Since heat rises, having a so-called "chimney" vent like this isn't a bad idea at all.

As with the window fan, the top fan sports an official Aspire fan grille, and upon closer inspection it also comes equipped with a black mesh screen to make it look quite cool.
